Who we are.

Ebenezer Clinic and Diagnostic Centre- Ibanda is a fully registered and accredited Medical facility with Uganda Medical and Dental practioners Council . The medical centre offers high quality medical services and within two years of operation, it has managed to secure a customer base of over 2000 patients per month from both within and around Ibanda district. It is located on Plot 13, Saleh Building, along the Main Street, in Ibanda Municipal Council, opposite Stanbic Bank.

Back story of Ebenezer Clinic

Started in 2015 in Ibanda by Brothers Eugene Bakahika and Dr Leonard Bakahika to offer health care services to the population of Ibanda and beyond. Ibanda was facing health constraints as there were small numbers of health services providers. The Lead specialist & Medical director is Dr. Leonard Kururagireh Bakahika. A holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (Mbarara University) and Master’s degree in Health Sciences Management from North Umbria University, United Kingdom. He has a successful track record in primary health and emergency care spanning over 10 years practicing in Uganda, South Sudan, Iraq and United Kingdom. He brings a sense of commitment, attention to detail, integrity and vitality in every aspect of his work which permeates through to all staff members and clients at large. He is currently the Medical Director of the facility.

Lead Specialist and Medical Director

Dr. Leonard Kururagireh Bakahika

As Medical Director, Dr. Bakahika leads our medical strategy, championing evidence-based practices and patient-centered care. A distinguished healthcare professional, he graduated top of his class with distinction from Northumbria University in 2013, earning a master’s in healthcare management. He also holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Catholic University of Milan and Uganda Martyrs University.

With over 16 years of medical experience in managing NCDs in diverse settings, he brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the Ebenezer Wellness Centre.

As the Medical Director, Dr. Bakahika’s strategic vision and medical acumen are instrumental in steering the clinic toward its goal of providing quality NCD care in Uganda’s underserved communities.

Prof. Angela Wells is our digital guardian connecting us with IT experts across the world from Nigeria to Kathmandu in Nepal to the United States. A renowned technologist, along with her team of software engineers, who have developed the Smart Pills Reminder App—a revolutionary mobile application designed to redefine medication management for diabetes patients in rural Uganda.
